##Get Outside Especially if you have kids, this resolution should apply to the whole family. Teaching your children healthy habits is one of the most important responsibilities you have as a parent, so why not use your neighborhood and community as a starting point? An evening bike ride, a family game of kickball or dodgeball, or even a stroll around the block is enough to get your heart rate elevated and muscles engaged.
##Tone Down Screen Time According to the American Heart Association, “there are real concerns that screens influence eating behaviors, possibly because children ‘tune out’ and don’t notice when they are full when eating in front of a screen. There are connections between obesity, eye problems and sleep disorders that all stem from extended amounts of screen time. There is also a new term called “tech neck” that result in muscle strains and disk injury from excessive amounts of looking down at an electronic screen. Make sure that instead of merely limiting screen time that you are replacing it with something just as exciting, and more active, than a mobile device.
